A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING
THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO EXECUTE MUTUAL AID
AGREEMENTS WITH GOVERNMENTAL ENTITIES,
INCLUDING ANY AMENDMENTS OR RENEWALS
THERETO; PROVIDING FOR AUTHORIZATION; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Chapter 23, "Florida Mutual Aid Act," of the Florida Statutes authorizes
municipalities to enter into mutual aid agreements for the rendering of law enforcement assistance
across jurisdictional boundaries; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 23.1225(3), of the Florida Statues, a mutual aid
agreement may be entered into by a law enforcement agency through a written agreement executed
by the chief executive officer of the agency, who is authorized to contractually bind the
agency; and
WHEREAS, in accordance Section 23.1225(3), of the Florida Statutes, the Village
Council wishes to authorize the Village Manger to execute mutual aid agreements with governmental
entities, including any amendments or renewals thereto, subject to the Village Attorney's approval as
to form, content, and legal sufficiency; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council finds that this Resolution is in the best interest and
welfare of the residents of the Village.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Recitals. That each of the above -stated recitals are hereby adopted,
confirmed, and incorporated herein.
Section 2. Authorization. That the Village Council hereby authorizes the Village
Manager to execute mutual aid agreements with governmental entities, including any amendments

or renewals thereto, subject to the Village Attorney's approval as to form, content, and legal
sufficiency.
Section 3. Effective Date. That this Resolution shall be effective immediately upon
adoption.
