RESOLUTION NO. 10-8017
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, TO
DECLARE THE FIRST FRIDAY OF EVERY
FEBRUARY AS SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD
APPRECIATION DAY; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Crossing Guards provide an invaluable service and play an
important role in our community; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, Florida,
recognizes the School Crossing Guards and expresses great appreciation for
their dedication in assisting the safe journey of our children to and from school;
and.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City Opa-locka desires to show
appreciation of the hard work and dedication of the School Crossing Guards; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission acknowledges and honors the School
Crossing Guards by declaring the first Friday of every February as School
Crossing Guard Appreciation Day.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble are hereby incorporated by
reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of Opa-locka declares the first Friday of every
February as School Crossing Guard Appreciation Day.

Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 10 day of FEBRUARy2010.
