A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD EXTENDING
THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA CAL-CARD PROGRAM TO OTHER DEPARTMENTS
AND AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF ADDITIONAL~CAL-CARDS ,
WHEREAS, the State of California implemented the Cal-Card Purchase Card
Program in July of 1994; and `°~
WHEREAS, on September 2, 2008, City Council authorized staff to participate in
the Cal-Card Purchase Program; and
WHEREAS, the City implemented a pilot program and two Cal-Cards were
issued to the City Manager's Office and Public Works Department; and
WHEREAS, the pilot program provided excellent results: the City received cash
rebates of about 2% of its total Cal-Card purchases and no finance charges or late fees
were incurred; and
WHEREAS, the Cal-Card Purchase Program can be extended to other
departments.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the existing Human Resources' credit card will be cancelled
' and the State of California Cal-Card Program is extended to other departments, as
listed below.
Section 2. That the following departments can be issued a Cal-Card, which will
be utilized for purchases allowed by the existing Credit Card Policy, Purchasing Policy
and in accordance with all existing City polices:
o Human Resources Department - Director of Human Resources
o Neighborhood Services - Director of Neighborhood Services
o Finance and Department - Accounting & Auditing Supervisor
Section 3. That this Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 20th day of April, 2010.
