A RE SOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUN CIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYN E, FLORI DA, ACCEPTING
THE NATIONAL ARB OR DAY FOUNDATION'S 2022 TRE E
CITY USA DESIGNATION; PROVIDING FOR
IM PLEM ENTATION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
W HERE AS, the Village of Key Biscayne (the "Village") desires to participate in the
National Arbor Day Foundation's Tree City USA program (the "Program"); and
WHEREAS, the Program will provide direction, technical assistance, public attention, and
national recognition for urban and community forestry programs; and
WHEREAS, the Village was designated as a 2022 Tree City USA by the National Arbor
Day Foundation; and
WHEREAS, the Village desires to accept the 2022 Tree City USA designation; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council finds that this Resolution is in the best interest and
welfare of the residents of the Village.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Recitals. That each of the above-stated recitals are hereby adopted,
confirmed, and incorporated herein.
Section 2.
USA designation.
Section 3.
Acceptance. That the Village Council hereby accepts the 2022 Tree City
Implementation. That the Village Manager is hereby authorized to take
such further action as may be necessary to implement the purpose and provisions of this
Resolution.

Effective Date. That this Resolution shall be effective imm ediately upon
PASSED and ADOPTED this 9th day of May 2023.
