AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING
THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION
OF A GRANT FROM THE AREA 9 AGENCY
WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-1-4-10, a municipality may execute any
documents necessary to receive money from the state or federal government or any
other source, and said documents are prepared and executed by the City executive
administration, provided that the Common Council of the City of Richmond as the
legislative body of the City approves an ordinance for the appropriation of any
monies received in accordance with IC 36-4-6-18; and
WHEREAS, The Area 9 Agency has grant funding available through its Title III (Older American
Act Funds) Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond desires to submit a grant application to obtain funding for
Rose View Transit transportation services from fiscal year 2016 to 2017; and
WHEREAS, A minimum local match of Fourteen Thousand Nine Hundred Two Dollars and Zero
Cents ($14,902.00) is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond, in accordance with IC 36-1-4-10, has submitted or will submit a
grant application to the Area 9 Agency for the Title III Grant Program to help fund the Rose View
Transit transportation services from fiscal year 2016 to 2017.
2. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to
Seventy-two Thousand Seven Hundred Twenty-eight Dollars and Zero Cents ($72,728.00).
3. Matching funds from Rose View Transit (Paratransit) Rider donations and funds from the
Rose View budget, in the amount of Fourteen Thousand Nine Hundred Two Dollars and Zero Cents
($14,902.00) shall be appropriated to support the grant application.
4. All grant funding, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated to help fund
the Rose View Transit transportation services from fiscal year 2016 to 2017.
