A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, RATIFYING THE
ACTION OF THE CITY MANAGER TO PAY FOR
EMERGENCY REPAIRS TO THE CLAMP SHELL TRUCK
IN THE AMOUNT OF FOUR THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED
AND TWENTY FOUR DOLLARS AND EIGHTY SIX CENTS
($4,424.86) TO ATLANTIC TRUCK CENTER PAYABLE
FROM ACCOUNT NO. 64-53346; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Clamp Shell Truck is indispensable and is utilized daily by the Public
Works Department to help keep the City clean; and
WHEREAS, the truck was acquired in 2004, and due to wear and tear in the last five years,
the Clamp Shell truck recently required emergency repair service; and
WHEREAS, by recommendation from the manufacturer, the truck is serviced by the
Atlantic Truck Center.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to pay Atlantic Truck Center in the
amount of Four Thousand, Four Hundred and Twenty Four Dollars and Eighty Six Cents
($4,424.86) for the repair of the Clamp Shell Truck, payable from account 64-53346.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.

RE: Ratification of Repairs to Clamp Shell Truck
Request: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, RATIFYING THE ACTION OF THE
CITY MANAGER FOR EMERGENCY REPAIRS TO THE
CLAMP SHELL TRUCK IN THE AMOUNT OF FOUR

AND EIGHTY SIX CENTS ($4,424.86) TO ATLANTIC TRUCK
CENTER FROM ACCOUNT NO. 64-533467 IN A FORM
ACCEPTED BY THE CITY ATTORNEY.
Description: The Clamp Shell Truck (Freightliner M2) is an essential piece of equipment used daily by
Public Works Department for picking up trash within the City. The truck was acquired in 2004 and has
provided valuable service for the past five years. Wear and tear on equipment of this nature is inevitable.
Under recommendation from the manufacturer,the truck is serviced locally by Atlantic Truck Center.
Financial Impact: The repair cost Four Thousand, Four Hundred and Twenty Four dollars and Eighty
Six Cents ($4,424.86)
Implementation Time Line: The truck has been repaired.
Recommendation(s): Staff recommends approval.
Analysis: The City has established a working relationship with Atlantic Trucking Center from the date
of purchase. As the recommended service provider Atlantic Truck Center has provided reliable, timely
and efficient service.
