Resolution No. 10-8039
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, CALLING ON GOVERNOR
CHARLIE CRIST TO VETO SENATE BILL 6; PROVIDING
FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Senate Bill 6 is a controversial education bill that would overhaul Florida's
public schools and change the way the public educators are paid, including linking teacher salaries to
test scores; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to have Senate Bill 6
vetoed; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka is calling on Governor Charlie
Crist to Veto Senate Bill 6:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby calls upon Governor
Charlie Crist to veto Senate Bill 6.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall immediately transmit a copy of this Resolution to the
Governor.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,FLORIDA:
