BOROUGH OF CARTERET SIGN AND FAC;;ADE
MATCHING GRANT PHASE II
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret Urban Enterprise Zone Board unanimously
recommended the adoption of a resolution requesting additional funding to continue a
Financial Assistance Matching Grant Program offered primarily, to participants of
Carteret Urban Enterprise Zone Program; and
'VHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret and the Urban Enterprise Zone Board wishes to
continue such a program to assist participating Urban Enterprise Zone businesses by
encouraging expansion and capital improvement projects by and for such businesses; and
'VHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret and the Urban Enterprise Zone Board has reviewed
the proposed pUlpOSes and adopted a resolution to continue a program; and
WHEREAS, this requ!.'St is for Phase II of this program in the amount of $75,000.00
(Seventy Five Thousand Dollars, and 00/100); and
WHEREAS, pursuant to NJ.S.52:27H-88(c), in order to fund the project from funds
deposited in the -Entelprise Zone Assistance Fund, the goveming body must adopt a
resolution approving the project and authorizing the submission of the application for
flmding.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the Borough
of Carteret does hereby authorize and direct the submission of a request in the amount of
$75,000.00 to the New Jersey Commerce and Economic Growth Commission for
evaluation and approval ofthe project entitled:
SIGN AND FAC;;ADE MATCHING GRANT PROGRAM PHASE II
to be funded from momes deposited in the Enterprise Zone Assistance Fund and credited
to the account of the Borough of Carteret, said account maintained by the State Treasurer
for the Enterprise Zone.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Borough Clerk shall forward eight (8) certified
copies of the resolution to the Urban Enterprise Zone Program Coordinator for
distributio.n to members afthe Urban Enterprise Zone Board. ~
