A RESOLUTION OF TF1E CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AWARDING
A CONTRACT TO KANA PIPELINE, INC. AS THE APPARENT LOWEST
RESPONSIBLE BIDDER, IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $218,300 FOR THE
LONG BEACH BOULEVARD AND IMPERIAL HIGHWAY SEWER MAIN
REPLACEMENT PROJECT, PROJECT NUMBER 4011.67.887, AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the City Council on February 16, 2010 adopted Resolution No.
2010.037, adopting the plans, specifications, contract documents and working details
for the Long Beach Boulevard and Imperial Highway Sewer Main Replacement Project,
Project Number 4011.67.887 and authorizing staff to seek bids; and ~ ~; - ~ ~-

WHEREAS, the bid opening~ took place in the ~O,ffice of the City~ Clerk on M'arch
18, 2010, and seven (7) contractors submitted bids; and °~ `
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works / City Engineer has ascertained that
Kana Pipeline, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder at $218,300 for the total of Unit
Price Bid Schedule "A"; and
WHEREAS, a reference check has revealed that this contractor, Kana Pipeline,
Inc., has the necessary'experience ~and ~'contractor's license for this type of project; and
WHEREAS, the Water Fund is adequate to fund the Long Beach Boulevard and
Imperial Highway Sewer Main Replacement Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the contract for the Long Beach Boulevard and Imperial
Highway Sewer Main Replacement Project, Project No. 4011.67.887, be awarded to
Kana Pipeline, Inc. for the lowest bid not to exceed $218,300 for the total of Unit Price
Bid Schedule "A".
Section 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the agreement
between the City Council of the City of Lynwood and Kana Pipeline, Inc., approved as to
form by the City Attorney.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City Council
Resolution.
