Resolution No. 10-8058
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, TO ADOPT A BAN TO
PROHIBIT SMOKING IN CITY OWNED VEHICLES;
PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Opa-locka maintains a no smoking policy in effect for all City
owned buildings, except as allowed in designated outdoor smoking areas; and
WHEREAS, City owned vehicles are an asset of the City of Opa-locka; and
WHEREAS, tobacco use in the City's vehicles reduces the overall cleanliness and makes
the vehicle unpleasant for others; and
WHEREAS, in conjunction with the state's Clean Indoor Air Act, the City Commission of
the City of Opa-locka desires to ban smoking in City owned vehicles:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, hereby adopts a ban to
prohibit smoking in all City owned vehicles.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 12`" day of May,2010.
