RESOLUTION GRANTING
VARIANCES FOR THE DOCKSIDE DECKS
WHEREAS, the owners of the properties at Dockside (Applicants) have
requested variances to build decks on their units, which properties are
legally described on Exhibit A attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, the variance requested by each of the Applicants is specified on
Exhibit A attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, Section 825.45 of the City's Code of Ordinances and Minn. Stat.
Section 462.357 require that variances from the strict interpretation of the
zoning ordinance be granted only when there is a demonstrated hardship because
of circumstances unique to the property; and
WHEREAS, the planning commission considered the Applicants' request and
has recommended approval thereof; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has had an opportunity to review the matter and
to hear from the Applicants regarding the request.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina,
Minnesota that the Applicants' request for variances be granted for reasons of
safety and practicality in having the proposed decks and because the decks
will not increase hard surface coverage on the property.
