HomeMy Public PortalAbout1987-121Member fr� c / ( its adoption: introduced the following resolution and moved CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO. 3 -7 /,� RESOLUTION CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE IMPROVEMENT OF TAMARACK DRIVE AND ORDERING PREPARATION OF PROPOSED ASSESSMENT AND CALLING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED ASSESSMENT FOR IMPROVEMENT OF TAMARACK DRIVE WHEREAS, it is proposed to improve Tamarack Drive from County Road 24 to Blackfoot Trail by constructing a permanent street to a 7-ton capacity and to assess the benefitted properties for all or a portion of the cost of the improvement, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 429. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina, Minnesota as follows: 1. A public hearing shall be held on the proposed improvement on the 1st day of December, 1987 in the council chambers at city hall at 8:00 p.m. and the city clerk -treasurer shall give mailed and published notice of such hearing and improvement as required by law. 2. The portion of the cost of such improvement to be paid by the city is hereby declared to be $ and the portion of the cost to be assessed against benefited property owners is declared to be $ 3. The city clerk -treasurer, with the assistance of the city engineer, is hereby authorized and directed to calculate the proper amount to be specially assessed for such improvement against every assessable lot, piece or parcel of land within the district affected, without regard to cash valuation, as provided by law, and shall file a copy of such proposed assessment in her office for public inspection. 4. A hearing shall be held on the 1st day of December, 1987, in the city hall at p.m. to pass upon such proposed assessment and at such time and place all persons owning property affected by such improvement will be given an opportunity to be heard with reference to such assess- ment. 5. The city clerk -treasurer is hereby directed to cause a notice of the hearing on the proposed assessment to be published once in the official newspaper at least two weeks prior to the hearing and she shall state in the notice the total cost of the improvement. She shall also cause mailed notice to be given to the owner of each parcel described in the assessment roll not less than two weeks prior to the hearing.
