Resolution No. 10-8076
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, TO AUTHORIZE AND DIRECT
THE CITY MANAGER TO SET ASIDE $50,000.00 TO ASSIST
SENIOR CITIZENS WHO ARE IN DESPERATE FINANCIAL
NEED OF ROOF REPAIR OR ROOF REPLACEMENT SERVICE
FOR THE 2010 HURRICANE SEASON; PROVIDING FOR
RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS,many of the Senior Citizens of the City of Opa-locka have roofs in need of repair or
replacement; and
WHEREAS, with the start of the hurricane season, the City needs to take action to assist those
Senior Citizens who have a desperate need to have their roof repaired or replaced:
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, hereby authorizes and directs the
City Manager to set aside $50,000.00 from the budget, to assist Senior Citizens, owning homes and
residing in those homes in Opa-locka, who are in desperate need of roof repair or roof replacement for the
2010 hurricane season, and to assist the ten (10) worst cases, with the worst roofs and worst financial
situations, insofar as possible. The City Manager is directed to develop a selection process with the
Housing Authority making final recommendations. The City Manager is further directed to propose a
competitive procurement process to be presented to the City Commission for final approval.

Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
