SUPPORTING ASSEi\IBL Y BILL A-2853
WHEREAS, Assembly Bill A-2853, released by the Assembly Housing and Local
Government Committee, would amend CAOA:65-30 to permit State aid to fund start-up
costs for local shared services projects; and
WHEREAS,as such, A-2853, would expand the ability of the State to assist local units
in participating in shared services projects by permitting the use of SHARE funding for
start-up costs that are .financed through t~e issuance of debt or capitallea.:=;e agteements.
WHEREAS, A-2853 would state that the costs are currently excluded from the program
and t'he bill is limited by the amount of grants or loans for these start -up costs to no more
than $200,000; and
WHEREAS, the'New Jersey League of Municipalities strongly supports A-2853 as
released and has requested that all of its. members to ,go on record similarly supporting the
same.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough
ofCarteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows:
1. That the Borough of Carteret hereby supports Assembly Bill A-2853 released
by the Assembly Housing and Local Government Committee.
2. That a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to ihe New Jersey League of
Municipalities.
