RESOLUTION NO. 10-8095
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF OPA-
LOCKA, FLORIDA TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY
MANAGER TO PURCHASE VACANT LOT FOLIO #08-
2122-003-2401, MAGNOLIA SUB PB 30-80, 50 FEET PART
OF JAMES STREET LYING BETWEEN BLKS 13 & 14
CLOSED BY ORDINANCE 73-21 OR 20488-2052 0602 4,
OWNED BY EMMA COLLINS; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, Emma Collins, the owner of vacant lot Folio #08-2122, purchased the
property June 2002 to build professional office space; and
WHEREAS,because the city has underground utilities on the site, Emma Collins has not
been able to build on the property; and
WHEREAS, although the land has been valued at $62,500,00 the owner is willing to sell
it to the City for a price between $10,000.00 and $20,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka authorizes the City Manager
to purchase the land from owner Emma Collins:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby directs and
authorizes the City Manager to purchase the property at Magnolia Subdivision, Plat Book Pg.30-
80, that 50 feet part of James Street, lying between Blks 13 & 14, closed by Ordinance 73-21, or
20488-2052 0602 4, from Emma Collins, at a price of$20,000.00.

Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 14 day of July,2010.
