HomeMy Public PortalAbout1988-009Member its adoption: /r),khei introduced the following resolution and moved CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO. 0 �'- 67 RESOLUTION OPPOSING PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE MINNESOTA TAX INCREMENT FINANCING ACT WHEREAS, a bill (Bill) has been introduced in the Minnesota legislature to modify Minnesota Statutes, Section 469.174 through 469.179 (Tax Increment Financing Act); and WHEREAS, the Bill contains provisions which could impair the City's efforts to encourage development; and WHEREAS, the Bill would leave the cities of Minnesota, which are the primary governmental entities responsible for economic development, with fewer tools to prevent the flight of capital and human resources from the state. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina that Medina is on record as opposed to passage of the Bill. The city clerk -treasurer is authorized and directed to transmit a copy of this resolution to the Minnesota legislature. Dated: , 1988.
