AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ALMA ORDINANCE NUMBER 2018-15
WHEREAS, the City Council has recognized the need for updating
Ordinance 2018-15;
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ALMA, ARKANSAS,
SECTION 1: The updated Listing of Businesses is attached.
SECTION 2: Ea nark revenue for the Planning Department.
SECTION 3: Updated applications to include URL and QR code for easier
access to online application and renewal.
SECTION 4: That all other provisions of Ordinance 2018-15 or other
Ordinances not in conflict herewith shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 5: That this Ordinance shall take effect immediately following
its final passage.

Businesses that Require an Alma Business License
• Businesses with offices located within the city limits of Alma.
• Businesses that are a corporation, non-profit, LLC, LLP, association, or sole
proprietor.
• Businesses that have or should have a sales tax or use peunit.
• Businesses that sell Arkansas Scholarship Lottery tickets or host charity
bingo events.
• Religious institutions that require a state or federal license or collect sales
and use tax.
Businesses that Do Not Require an Alma Business License
• Home -based businesses that do not increase traffic at their location.
• Contract work (electricians, plumbers, lawn care, etc.).
The businesses above will still need a business license if they have an office within
the city limits of Alma
Entities that require an Alma Business License but are exempt from License
fee's
• Businesses owned or operated by someone under the age of 18.
• Religious institutions that do not generate income from business sources (i.e.
daycare, bookstore, etc.).
• Government entities.
