Resolution No. 10-8126
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, TO ENDORSE A
PROCLAMATION BY THE GOVERNOR AND CABINET
DESIGNATING THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 17 THROUGH
OCTOBER 23,2010,AS"CITY GOVERNMENT WEEK,"AND
ENCOURAGING ALL CITY OFFICIALS AND CITY
EMPLOYEES TO SUPPORT THIS CELEBRATION BY
PARTICIPATING IN THE "MY CITY: I'M PART OF IT, I'M
PROUD OF IT!" ACTIVITIES; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Florida Governor and Cabinet proclaimed the week of October 17 through
October 23, 2010, as "Florida City Government Week"; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to participate and
encourages all City officials, City employees, school officials and citizens to celebrate City
Government Week; and
WHEREAS,the slogan for City Government Week is,"My City,I'm Part of it,I'm Proud of
It"; and
WHEREAS, the week of October 17 through October 23, 2010, offers an important
opportunity to spread the word to the citizens of the City of Opa-locka that they have it in their
power to shape and influence the municipality through civic involvement; and
WHEREAS, City officials and employees share the responsibility to pass along their
understanding of public services and benefits by showing and teaching our citizens about municipal
government through an array of projects:

NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby endorses the week of
October 17 through October 23,2010,as"City Government Week,"and encourage all City officials
and City employees, to support this celebration by participating in the"My City:I'm Part of It, I'm
Proud of It!" activities.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 8`" day of September 2010.
