W H E RE A S , Section 22-31 of the Village of Key Biscayne (the "Village") Code of
Ordinances prohibits individuals from engaging in or participating in saltwater fishing activities
on the West Mashta Road Bridge unless authorized by the Village Council; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council desires to authorize the Community Center's Marine
Biology Camp to engage in saltwater fishing activities on the West Mashta Road Bridge for two
hours a day on three days of the 2023 Summer; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council finds that this Resolution is in the best interest and
welfare of the residents of the Village.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Recitals. That each of the above-stated recitals are hereby adopted,
confirmed, and incorporated herein.
Section 2. Authorization. That the Village Council hereby authorizes the Community
Center's Marine Biology Camp to engage in saltwater fishing on the West Mashta Road Bridge
for two hours a day on three days of the 2023 Summer. The Village Manager is authorized to work
with the Community Center's Marine Biology Camp to establish the dates and times that the
fishing will occur during the 2023 Summer.
Section 3.

Effective Date. That this Resolution shall be effective immediately upon
