A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY'OF LYNWOOD TO SELECT
GANNETT FLEMING AND THE SOURCE GROUP TO IMPLEMENT THEMAPPROVED
INTERIM REMEDIAL ACTION PLAN SOUTHEAST~.O'F~ THE~'105~~``FR~EEWAY AND
LONG BEACH BOULEVARD AND NEGOTIATE AN AGREEMENT FOR SAID
REMEDIATION ACTIVITIES °'
WHEREAS, The City of Lynwood authorized the issuance of a Request for
Proposal (RFP) to remediate the properties located Southeast of the 105 Freeway and .~
Long Beach Boulevard; and
WHEREAS, The RFP was issued on March 26, 2010 by sending the RFP to 26
qualified contractors and posting the RFP on the city's website; and
WHEREAS, On April 19, 2010 six firms submitted proposals to conduct the
remediation; and
WHEREAS, The City of Lynwood evaluated the Responses after a full interview
and determined that Gannett FleminglThe Source Group submitted the best proposal
which met the requirements of the Request for Proposals at a reasonable cost; and
WHEREAS, The second best proposal was The Reynolds Group.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE ClTY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY,FIND, DETERMINE, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Authorize the City Manager or his designee to take neaessary
steps, including the execution of an agreement with Gannett Fleming/The Source
Group on behalf of the City, to negotiate the implementation of the interim remedial
action plan approved by the Regional Water Quality Board to utilize the Emergency,
Abandoned, and Recalcitrant Owner grant fund.
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediateiy upon its
adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 4th day of May, 2010.
