A RE SOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUN CIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF KE Y BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, RE VISING THE
SCHEDULE OF FEES FOR USE OF THE VILLAGE'S
COM M UNITY CENTER; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHERE AS, the V ill age C ouncil has previously adopted V ill age C ode Section 2- 71, as an
enabling O rdinance w hich pro vides a m echanism fo r the establishm ent of m em bership fe es and other
fe es fo r the use of the V ill age's C omm un ity C enter by V illage C oun cil Resolution; and
WHERE AS, on M ar ch 9, 2004, the V illage C oun cil adopted R esolution N o. 2004-12 to
establish an initial schedule of fe es fo r use of the C omm uni ty C enter; an d
W HERE AS, on Septem ber 5, 2006, the V ill age C oun cil adopted R esolution N o. 2006-36,
revising the previously adopted schedule of fe es fo r use C omm uni ty C enter; an d
WHERE AS, the V ill age C oun cil desires to revise the fe e schedule fo r use of the C omm uni ty
C enter as set fo rt h in Exhi bit "A " attached hereto; an d
WHERE AS, the V illage C ouncil fi nds that this R esolution is in the best interest and
w elfa re of the residents of the V ill age.
NOW, THERE FORE , IT IS HERE BY RE SOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUN CIL
OF THE VILLAGE OF KE Y BISCAYN E, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: 1
Section 1. Recitals. T hat each of the above-stated recitals are hereby adopted,
confi rm ed, and incorp orated herein .
Section 2. Fee Schedule Revised. That effective as of O ctober 1, 2023, the daily,
m onthly or ann ual m em bership fe es fo r use of the C omm uni ty C enter, fo r each category of user
indicated, an d the accom panying explanatory descri ptions, shall be as set fo rth in Exhi bit "A " atta ched
hereto.

M embership Category Descriptions and Explanations
Adults - An adult membership is available to residents between the ages of 19 and 64, unless
they meet the student membership criteria by being 25 or younger and currently enrolled
in school.
Youth - A youth membership is available to any resident who is 18 of younger.
Senior - A senior membership is available to any resident who is 65 or older.
Student - Any individual who is 25 or under can apply for the student membership with proof of
current school enrollment.
Couple - Any two individuals who reside at the same address may join as a couple. This would
include one child and one adult or two adults.
Senior Couple - To qualify for a senior couple membership, both individuals must be 65 or older.
If only one individual is over 65, the couple membership would apply.
Family-A family consists ofup to four individuals, including no more than two adults who reside
together. Families with more than four individuals may add additional family members
at 50 percent off of the additional membership category rate. For example, a family of
five may add a third child for $62.50 annually.

(b ) F ees fo r S p ecial C lasses. Fees for special classes shall be established by the Village
Manager depending upon the service provider contract entered into between the Village and the
instructor for the class. A schedule of fees for classes shall be filed in the Office of the Village Clerk
and will be available at the Comm unity Center.
( c) Waiver of Fees. The Village Manager shall be authorized to waive or defer fees for the
use of the Comm unity Center for those residents who are subject to an economic hardship.
