A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, TO AUTHORIZE THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXPEND FUNDS AND SEEK
COMPETITIVE BIDS FOR THE REHABILITATION OF
MAGNOLIA NORTH PARK "TOT LOT" IN AN AMOUNT
NOT TO EXCEED FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS
($50,000.00), PAYABLE FROM ACCOUNT NUMBER 44-
541813; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF
RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to have the Magnolia
North Park"Tot Lot"rehabilitated; and
WHEREAS,the project will enhance the area and increase the quality of community living
by improving the deficiency in the recreational facilities in the area; and
WHEREAS,the City of Opa-locka desires for the City Manager to seek competitive bids for
the rehabilitation project of the Magnolia North Park"Tot Lot"; and
WHEREAS, the project will be funded by the City of Opa-locka; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to authorize the City
Manager to seek competitive bids for the rehabilitation of Magnolia North Park"Tot Lot":
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby authorizes and directs
the City Manager to expend funds and seek competitive bids for the rehabilitation of Magnolia North

Park "Tot Lot" in an amount not to exceed Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00), payable from
account number 44-541813;
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 22nd day of September, 2010.

Request:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-
LOCKA,FLORIDA REQUESTING APPROVAL FOR THE CITY MANAGER
TO EXPEND FUNDS AND SEEK COMPETITIVE BIDS FOR THE
REHABILITATION OF MAGNOLIA NORTH PARK TO A TOT LOT IN THE
AMOUNT OF FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($50,000) PAYABLE FROM
ACCOUNT 44-541813.
Description: The Magnolia North Park, located at James Street and Ali Baba Avenue is in a
state of disrepair. The park previously used as a tot lot is adjacent to a newly acquired City
property. It is proposed to use the area for rehabilitation of the tot lot and a new picnic area. The
Magnolia North area is without any recreational facility and rehabilitation of this area will be
beneficial to the residents of Magnolia.
Financial Impact: This project is funded by the City of Opa-locka. Payable from Account Number 44-
541813,Magnolia Park North Improvements.
Implementation Timeline: Immediately
Legislative History: None
Recommendation(s): Staff recommends improvements.
Analysis: This improvement project will address the deficiency in recreational facilities for minors in the
magnolia North Area. The introduction of the picnic area will enhance the area and increase the quality of
community living.

SUBJECT: Magnolia North Park Rehabilitation
Public Works Department is preparing to commence rehabilitation of the Magnolia North
Park.Attached are a preliminary cost estimate and Agenda Item to seek approval to
proceed.Public Works will self perform some sections of this work including rough
trading,rough electrical and some concrete work.Other Items of work including,
landscaping,irrigation,fencing and general construction will be put out to bid.A bid
package has been forwarded to the Procurement Officer for bid.
Please review this package and indicate your approval to proceed.
