Resolution No. 10-8134
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, IN RECOGNITION OF
HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH,BEGINNING SEPTEMBER
15, 2010 THROUGH OCTOBER 15, 2010; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to observe the 30 day
period of September 15 through October 15,2010, in recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month;and
WHEREAS, Hispanic-Americans have contributed immeasurably to the diversity of the
United States through the introduction of their heritage, culture, art, cuisine and businesses; and
WHEREAS, Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates the long and important presence and
contributions of Hispanic Americans in North America; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka wishes to recognize the
contributions of Hispanic-Americans and encourage teaching in our community about Hispanic
Heritage through recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month in the City of Opa-locka:
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, Florida hereby recognizes
Hispanic Heritage Month, beginning September 15, 2010 through October 15, 2010.
Section 3 This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
