ORDINANCE NO: 615 AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 1, OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF BEL AIRE, KANSAS, IN CONNECTION WITH NOMINATION PETITION REQUIREMENTS FOR CANDIDATES FOR CITY OFFICE, ALL WITHIN THE CITY OF BEL AIRE, SEDGWICK COUNTY, KANSAS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF BEL AIRE, KANSAS: SECTION 1. AMENDING CHAPTER TWO, ARTICLE ONE OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE, ENTITLED "ELECTED OFFICIALS". 2.1.14 Nomination Petition Requirements. In accordance with K.S.A. 25-205 and amendments thereto, any resident of the City of Bel Aire may become a candidate for city office elected at large by having had filed on their behalf, a nomination petition or a declaration of candidacy, accompanied by any fee required by law. The nomination petition must be signed by a minimum of one (1) of the qualified electors of the City of Bel Aire. SECTION 2. REPEAL. All or parts of the Code conflicting with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed. SECTION 3. PUBLICATION. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after publication of its summary in the Ark Valley News, an official city newspaper.
