HomeMy Public PortalAbout1988-079i Member-!!��'�"_ its adoption: introduced the following resolution and moved CITY OF MEDINA�l RESOLUTION NO. �;i f 79 RESOLUTION GRANTING A VARIANCE TO SUBURBAN HENNEPIN REGIONAL PARK DISTRICT WHEREAS, the Suburban Hennepin Regional Park District (Applicant) has requested a variance to reduce the setback from Spurzem Lake to 30 feet for a pump house for Baker Park golf course; and WHEREAS, Section 825.45 of the City's Code of Ordinances and Minn. Stat., Section 462.357 require that variances from the strict interpretation of the zoning ordinance be granted only when there is a demonstrated hardship because of circumstances unique to the property; and WHEREAS, the planning commission considered the Applicant's request and recommended approval thereof; and WHEREAS, the City Council has had an opportunity to review the matter and to hear from the Applicant regarding the request. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina, Minnesota that the Applicant's request for a variance be granted on the grounds that the pump house must be located near Spurzem Lake for efficient operation, subject to the following conditions: 1. Screening of the pump house building shall be accomplished to the satis- faction of city staff; 2. The Applicant shall make every attempt to minimize the visual impact of the pump house on Spurzem Lake through screening and reduction in height of the structure; 3. The Applicant shall remove all temporary pumping equipment and tanks at the time of completion of Phase III of the Baker golf course improve- ments; 4. Exterior lighting on the pump house shall be limited to security lighting under the building soffit on the east side and there shall be no overhead lighting allowed; and 5. The Applicant shall pay to the city a fee in the amount determined by the city staff to represent the actual cost to the city of review of this variance application. Dated: _! 7,-7?2,4,t}oq11988.
