Box 370 Fraser, CO 80442 Dear Antoinette McVeigh: I am putting forth this letter of intent for the committee member opening on theTown of Fraser Public Arts Committee. As I have been observing a few of the PAC meetings, I am update to date on their current and also future endeavors. I feel I can contribute to the building momentum of Fraser's art culture. I do hope the Town of Fraser will consider my intention mentioned. Perhaps the existing committee members or the mayor can give a kind reference on my behalf. Sincerely, Sara Bellamy "o the Fraser Communitv Arts Council since moving to Grand County in 197 1, 1 have dreamed of the day when access to artistic endeavors would be more readily available. It is coming to pass before my evesil Laving retired just over a year ago, I have seen the eye catching colors on various murals come into being. Its amazing what this is doing for the character of Fraser. The bus stops as works of art and more sculptures to come are as exciting. Though I have never claimed art as my means of living, I have always had "projects" going. I draw with pencil and charcoal, use fabric as art, am trying to turn my rocky back yard into garden art and also work some in watercolor and with beads. I would love to joing a group that is thinking outside the box. I think I have some ideas that we could use or at least throw around. Its time to show the outside world what sort of talent lives inside of Fraser's eclectic houses. Thank you for considering my involvement with this group. I have owned property in the Fraser Valley since 2004 and made it my full-time residence in 2008. It would be my sincerr pleasure to have the opportunity contribute my skills and energy to the community I care so much about. Now that I live within the Fraser Town limits, I would relish being more directly involved in the Town's efforts to improve, and preserve what makes this community a desirable place to live and visit. My experience and skills are varied so ask you to select the committee on which you deem I might be of most value. Throughout my life, even when residing in other parts of the country, I had the good fortune to visit often and enjoy what Fraser and its surrounds have to offer. Retiring here and becoming a full time and active part of the community has been a perfect fit. I offer the perspective and skills gained from experiences listed below; - Education: I received a Bachelor of Science in Urban Studies, an inter -disciplinary degree, exposing me to City Planning, Development, Social Science and Government. At the same time I also earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education both from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. - Earl Career: I worked for the Missouri Division of Family Services in the Day Care Licensing and Foster Care Divisions. From this experience I well understand what it is like to work for and with number of government agencies. - Later Career: I was the co-owner and active principal of a contract packaging and logistics company in Cincinnati, Ohio. I assumed responsibility for sales, marketing, and customer relations while my partner managed logistics and operations. My customers were large consumer product corporations for which I created producible retail product design and presentation. Sales grew ten fold over the course of ownership while healthy margins were retained. I was successful in negotiating the sale of the company in 2001. From this endeavor, I strengthened skills in solving the multitude of daily challenges one must face in growing a business. Quite pertinent to the business environment in Fraser, I had to manage challenging seasonal swings as the retail customer base, was heavily 4 quarter oriented. In relation to the position on the Fraser Arts Please consider that I successfully managed my own art department and worked closely with the creative and marketing departments of my customers. - Community Involvement: I am very committed to making community service a part of my life and have served on a number of boards and organizations including Kansas City Hospice, the Alzheimer's Associations, Mountain Parks Electric Charitable Giving Board, Fraser River Valley Lions Club, and Grand Community ou Gardens. One project that I have truly enjoyed and feel quite proud is making the Fraser Valley Community Garden come to f -6don. I commenced fundraising in 2011 and was able to install the $50,000 facility on the North end of the Sports Complex in 2012. The gardens have been financially self-sustaining via rental fees and have drawn the participation of 40 to 50 gardeners each year. Also of value is the fact that my relationships and associations in Grand County, cut across all sectors. I am a person with and open ear, education and experience, which in combination, embraces divergent interests and populations. Please consider me as someone with the shills, interest, and drive to foster future growth in Fraser that is both fmanc iaIly vibrant and enhances the existing character of the community. Sincerely, Deborah R Buhayar Economic Development Advisory Committee Letter of interest Hello, My name is Cory and I would like to become an active part of Fraser's tuture. I was born and raised in Denver and have been a second home owner in the Winter Park / Fraser community since 2006. My wife Sabine and I first bought a condo in Pinetree Plaza and then recently purchased our future residence in Grand Park last year. I am an electrical contractor in Denver and Sabine owns a German Kitchen dealership in Wheat Ridge. Currently our primary residence is in Wheat Ridge with our second home in Grand Park Fraser. The decision to sell the condo and purchase a home in Fraser was mainly driven by our decision to make Fraser our primary residence sooner than later. While we are still a couple of years from making that jump I am very interested in becoming a part of this community in an active capacity so I am writing this letter of interest. I first spoke to Antoinette to verify that second home owners qualify and then proceeded per her instruction to your website for more details. I feel that of the committees who have openings EDAC is the best fit for who I am at this point in my life. The majority of my education has been more in the field and less in the classroom. I graduated from Denver Lutheran High School in 1985 and completed one year at Regis college before deciding to change course and move into the construction industry. I began my career in the electrical trade in 1986 when 1 went to work for my father's company. I got my Masters license in 1991 and took over my father's ownership of the company in 2007. 1 currently have 25 employees most of which have been with us for 15 plus years. Being in the construction industry for the last 30 years has given me an opportunity to see and participate in economic growth first hand. I have worked directly with architects, engineers, GC's, as well as developers and have learned from all of them what it takes to see an idea through to fruition. Many of my projects are at DIA where I have experienced how to deal with the publics opinion as well as multiple government entities in the process of getting a project completed. Being an employer has probably taught me the most about people in general and the impact that your actions and decisions have on someone else's life. My first experience with local City government came in Wheat Ridge. In 2UU8 Sabine and I bought a property in Wheat Ridge with the intention of making it into a showroom for Sabine's business. We chose Wheat Ridge because it was supportive of people who own a small business and wanted to invest in their community. The property we bought was zoned residential but was located on a very busy street in a up and coming area so we needed to apply for a zone change. This was an experience. Sabine and I decided to do this ourselves so we set about putting together multiple PLATS and petitioned the neighborhood during a 12 -month process which was successful. During that process I got to know several of the City's officials and decided at that point that when things slowed down a little in our world that I would like to pursue something in the local government. Over the years our future has become Fraser and I have met several people that are in the local economy which has given me the interest in making that pursuit up here. While at Pinetree Plaza I sat on the HOA board from 2008 to 2017 and was the president of the HOA for the last five years. As a board member and given the location of Pinetree Plaza I had a front row seat to much of the early progress in the Grand Park development. Working with Dick Norman (Mountain Chalet Property Management) who also set on the board for Winter Park gave me quite the insight to the inner workings of development in the area. This was also my first interaction with the Town of Fraser at a public update on the Grand Park development in which Clark Lipscomb was addressing the publics questions and concerns. in the years since we have purchased a cottage in Grand Park and have gotten to know both Clark and Meredith. At our first HOA meeting for Grand Park last fall Mayor Vandernail made a presentation at the beginning and gave a brief update on Fraser's future. In addition Mayor Vandernail encouraged those in attendance to join a committee which sounded like a good idea to me. In summary, I want to be a part of this community. I believe that the Fraser Valley is Colorado and there is a ton of potential for our future. As a current second home owner I believe that I can bring a perspective that might not be the norm. I know from reading the local papers and being in the public surrounding that not all locals (permanent residents) see the potential in all of us part timers and I would like to change that. I believe that for the most part we all want the development of our community to be intelligent, responsible, and respectful of everyone's needs. I understand how difficult that can be and that you will never have everyone on board with any plan so the best you can do is do the homework, represent what you know to the best of your ability, and move forward with a positive agenda. I appreciate you taking the time to consider my letter of interest and look forward to the future of Fraser. Cory A. Ouer4, 601 S Zerex St Fraser.
