Constable of the Town of Brewster
Greetings:
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby
directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Brewster
qualified to vote in Town affairs to meet in the Nauset Regional Middle
School on Monday, the tenth day of February next at seven-
thirty o'clock in the evening, then and there to act on the following
Articles:
ARTICLE 1. To see if the Town will vote to accept the proposal of the
Nauset Regional District School Committee passed on December 18, 1974
to amend the agreement establishing the Nauset Regional School Distract
(a) by providing that as of June 1, 1975 the Committee shall consist of
twelve elected members, four from Orleans, three from Brewster, three
from Fastham and two from Wellfleet, and that thereafter, following
each federal census beginning with the 1980 census, the Committee shall
reapportion itself, without further action by the towns, to form a com-
mittee of from nine to thirteen members to comply as closely as possible
with present constitutional one-man, one-vote requirements; (b) by pro-
viding that the district will assume jurisdiction over all grades from
kindergarten to grade twelve as of July 1, 1975 and that all existing
elementary schools within the district will be transferred to the dis-
trict for nominal consideration by the member towns to become district
elementary schools; (c) by providing that capital costs for each elemen-
tary school shall be paid by the town in which it is Located, and opera-
ting costs for each elementary school shall be apportioned among the
member towns on the basis of their enrollments in that school; (d) by
providing that capital costs and operating costs for schools other than
elementary schools shall be apportioned on the basis of total enrol'_-
ments in such other schools; (e) by providing for apportionment of
special operating costs and transportation costs; (f) by providing that
the incurring of indebtedness authorized b_y the committee after-,
December 31, 1975 shall be approved by a majority of the voters voting
at a district-wide election under G. E. c.71, s.16 (n); and (g) by Waking
technical changes incidental to the foregoing amendments. Copies of the
revised agreement with all of the proposed amendments are available at
the office of the Town Clerk.
ARTICLE 2. To see if the Town will vote to transfer from Available
Funds a sum of money for the purpose of creating additional Town Hall
working office space, including architect's fees, on the second floor
of Town Hall.(transfer to be under the direction of the Board of
Selectmen'..
ARTICLE 3. To see if the Town will vote to transfer as an emergency
measure the sura. of Eighteen Thousand Dollars ($18,000.00) from Overlay
Surplus or Available Funds for the removal of designated diseased Dutch
Elm trees on or before March_ 31, 1975 thi61ghott the T as �:Z;gvired by
Chapter 132 of the General Saws of Massachusetts.
ARTICLE 4. To see if the Town will vote to transfer from Available
Funds the sum of Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) for the appraisal by
the Town of the State owned Nickerson State Park acreage.

ARTICLE 5. To see if the Town will transfer from Available Funds the
sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) for use through June 30, 1975
by the newly created Historic District Committee.
ARTICLE 6. To act on any other business that may legally come before
this meeting.
.And you are directed to serve this Warrant with your doings
thereon to the Town Clerk at the time and place of said meeting as
aforesaid.
