HomeMy Public PortalAbout1989-02Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO. O RESOLUTION OF INTENT NOT TO REASSESS WHEREAS, Parcel No. 18-118-23-22-0063, legally described as Lot 24, Block 7, Independence Beach, Hennepin County, Minnesota, (Property) was forfeited to the state of Minnesota for unpaid taxes and special assessments in April of 1981; and WHEREAS, special assessments on behalf of the City totalling $6,444.42, including interest, were cancelled under the provisions of Minn. Stat. §282.07 by virtue of the forfeiture of the Property to the state; and WHEREAS, the property was sold to the owner of an adjacent parcel under the provisions of Minn. Stat. §282.01, Subd. 7a on June 10, 1988 for $2,000; and WHEREAS, approximately $1,800.00 of the sale price will be paid to the City under the provisions of Minn. Stat. §282.08; and WHEREAS, the City of Medina finds that there exists no special benefit to the Property by virtue of the Independence Beach sewer project, because it is too small to develop separately from the adjoining parcel. NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Resolved by the City Council of the City of Medina, Minnesota that it is the intention of the City not to exercise its powers under Minn. Stat. §435.23 to reassess the Property for any special benefits conferred upon it by virtue of the Independence Beach sewer project.
