D i-"/ DRAFT RESOLUTION FOR JOINING THE HENNEPIN COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CONSORTIUM WHEREAS, the City of MEDINA has a strong interest in the economic health of both the community and the region; and WHEREAS, a group known as the Hennepin County Economic Development Consortium has been formed and has identified significant economic development needs and opportunities which can be best addressed through cooperation among the chambers and local governments of the area; and WHEREAS, the Consortium has developed a mission statement and goals for achieving more effective and better coordinated economic development programs; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MEDINA That the City of MEDINA endorses the economic development mission and goals identified by the Consortium and by so doing becomes a member, agreeing to work on cooperative efforts with the Consortium and other business, government and community organizations to accomplish these goals. ATTEST : 0dyl/yl�Zi) e- Clerk -Treasurer Member . 04"f �- its adoption: introduced the following resolution and moved CITY OF MEDINA a RESOLUTION NO. i /- 7C, RESOLUTION ADOPTING ASSESSMENT FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF HACKAMORE RD. WHEREAS, pursuant to property notice duly given as required by law, the city council has met and heard and passed upon all objections to the proposed assessment for the construction and asphalt improvement of Hackamore Rd. from State Hwy. 101 westerly to .8 mile west of Co. Rd. 116. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina, Minnesota as follows: 1. Such proposed assessment, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, is hereby accepted and shall constitute the special assess- ment against the lands named therein, and each tract of land therein included is hereby found to be benefited by the proposed improvement in the amount of the assessment levied against it. 2. Such assessment shall be payable in equal annual installments extending over a period of /C years, the first of the installments to be payable on or before the first Monday in January, 1970 and shall bear interest at the rate of percent per annum from the date of the adoption of this assessment resolution. To the first installment shall be added interest on the entire assessment from the date of this resolution until December 31, 199e . To each subsequent installment when due shall be added interest for one year on all unpaid installments. 3. The owner of any property so assessed may, at any time prior to certifi- cation of the assessment to the county auditor, pay the whole of the assessment on such property, with interest accrued to the date of payment, to the city clerk -treasurer, except that no interest shall be charged if the entire assessment is paid within 30 days from the adoption of this resolution; and such owner may, at any time thereafter, pay to the city clerk -treasurer the entire amount of the assessment remaining unpaid, with interest accrued to December 31 of the yaer in which such payment is made. Such payment must be made before November 15 or interest will be charged through December 31 of the next succeeding year. 4. The city clerk -treasurer shall forthwith transmit a certified duplicate of this assessment to the county auditor to be extended on the proper tax lists of the county, and such assessments shall be collected and paid over in the same manner as other municipal taxes.
