Meeting called to order at 7:07PM
Attending Meeting: Linda Katz, Ron Foisy, Phil Powers, Doug Priore, Cheryl Perreault, Jane Roche, Karl
Morningstar, Kim Hesse, Brian Eberlin.
Motion to approve January agenda.
Motion to approve December minutes, approved unanimously.
3: MLK Day update: Projects; January 18th, middle school, Evren Gundez keynote speaker.10‐12 Disney
give a day, get a day partnership. Flyers finally got updated to the website. Haitian relief
collection point to be established, any checks to be made out to American Red Cross. Help still
needed for seniors, kids to go to library drive. Expect large crowd this year again.
4. beFree: MLK Blood drive: added extra resource so we have 84 slots to fill. Red Cross and beFree
are both booking slots. Saturday night ice skating: moved and seconded to support with $200
contribution. Unamimous. No feb event, looking march athletic event.
5. Early release: Nothing to report.
5a. Web Update: continue to have technical hurdles to implement the updates. Taru is hopeful that we
are close to a resolution.
6. It takes a village: Cheryl and Abby are continuing to publish, once per month. Trying to find a way to
do an event in the winter tying in parent coffees and it takes a village. Kim Harvey said she will
take the lead in this activity.
7. Coach Merrill – Phil on the committee, not sure if any YC connection is needed.
8. Tobacco bylaws – presented to board of health in Oct. they want to get thru budget cycle, then take
up this issue.
9 Budget – presented money for a youth director and a grant writer, in addition to our regular funds.
Not likely to get full funding for anything. Working on trying to get a partnership with
parks and rec, and other departments. Challenge is to be creative in finding ways to
fund this position.
9. Other: Fcch hosting Step into Africa, April 11th ‐18th. We need to explore facebook.
