A RESOLUTION PASSING UPON_OBJECTIONS AND
DIRECTING THE'DTRECTOR`~OF PUBLIC -WORKS/CITY ENGINEER TO
ABATE THE NUISANCE OF DRY AND DRYING WEEDS
THAT EXIST ON CERTAIN PARCELS OF LAND IN
THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood,
California, did on the 16th day of June, 1981, adopt Resolution
No. 81-75 relating to the abatement of. dry and drying weeds,
stubble, brush, litter, or other flammable material, on certain
parcels of land in the City of Lynwood, and,
WHEREAS, due notice was given to destroy such weeds
pursuant. to the provisions of Section 39567.1 of the Government
Code, and
WHEREAS, at the time and place fixed for the hearing of
protests and objections to said matter, a hearing was duly held
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood has
considered all the facts and is fully informed in the matter, and
they have acquired jurisdiction to proceed and perform the work or
removal of said nuisance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that any objections
presented to said City Council are hereby overrulled, and that
the~Drector of Public Works/City Engineer of the City of Lynwood
be and he is hereby instructed to abate the nuisance described in
said Resolution No. 81-75 by having said nuisances referred to
removed, and he and his assistants are hereby expressly authorized
to enter upon private property for that purpose.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any property owners shall have
the right to have any such nuisance removed and abated at his own
expense, provided _ such_ work is. done_ prior to the time_ the work is
done by the Director of Public Works/City Engineer. If the work is
done by the property owner, no charge shall be .made by the City of
Lynwood.
