RESOLUTION N0. 81--92
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD AMENDING RESOLUTION 2843, PERSONNEL RULES
AND RE GULATIONS, RULE VIII SECTION 2
WHEREAS, the Personnel Board has identified an occasional need
to merge eligibility lists, thus retaining qualified candidates from one
eligibility list while acquiring additional candidates, to ensure suffi-
cient candidates for selection and appointment; and

M WHEREAS", the Personnel Board has approved the amendment to Rule
VIII, Section 2 of the Personnel Rules and Regulations as specified below;
and ,
WHEREAS, City of Lynwood Association Representatives and the City
Attorney have reviewed the amendment to Rule VIII, Section 2; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has studied the amendment and approved
same.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby
resolve that:
Personnel Rule VIII, Section 2 be amended to add:
If less than three qualified applicants are available for an
___ _._^ appointment from an eligibility list, the Personnel._Board may__
direct the establishment of a merged eligibility list, wherein
these applicants' scores are integrated with those obtained from
a newer and comparable testing process for the same classification.
Upon certification of the merged eligibility list, the previous
eligibility list for that classification is abolished. A merged
eligibility list shall contain the date of original certification
for each candidate. Names shall be removed after one (1) year
from the date of original certification unless the Personnel Board
grants `_s ix (6) month extensions up to the additional year allowed.
