HomeMy Public PortalAbout1989-20Member `Xe introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO. clri, 2e/ RESOLUTION DENYING A VARIANCE FOR WESTERN CEDAR WHEREAS, Western Cedar (Applicant) has requested a variance to allow an exterior storage area 18 feet by 18 feet on the property at 710 Hamel Road, which property contains less than five acres; and WHEREAS, Section 828.03 of the City's zoning ordinance prohibits any exterior storage on sites of less than five acres; and WHEREAS, Section 825.45 of the City's Code of Ordinances and Minn. Stat. Section 462.357 require that variances from the strict interpretation of the zoning ordinance be granted only when there is a demonstrated hardship because of circumstances unique to the property; and WHEREAS, the planning commission considered the Applicant's request and recommended denial thereof; and WHEREAS, the City Council has had an opportunity to review the matter and to hear from the Applicant regarding his request. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina, Minnesota that the Applicant's request for a variance for exterior storage be denied because there has been no showing of a hardship unique to the property as required by the City's ordinance and state statute.
