The Council then considered Ordinance No. 227, the proposed budget for the Tourism Department. Mr. Stanley Whitman and Mr. Michael Brenan of the Resort Tax Advisory Committe re -quested a change in the amount budgeted for tourism promotion from $400,000 to $485,000. Mr. Brenan said he believed the estimated revenue from the Resort Tax may have been underestimated. At this point Mr. Krez stated that he would have to leave to catch a plane. Mayor Printup said that the next meeting to consider the final millage and adopt the budgetswould be 5:15 P.M. on October 7, 1980. ' i Attest: Village Clerk PUBLIC HEARING October 7, 1980 Mayor September 30, 1980 A Public Hearin was held at 5:15 P. M. on October 7, 1980 in the Village Hall to consider the final millage for 1980 and adopt the 1980-81 proposed budgets. Gray Present: Messrs. Beatty, Printup and Taplin and Miss Absent: Mr. Krez Also present were Fred W. Maley, Village Manager and Mary T. Wetterer, Village Clerk. Mr. Maley said that the percent of increase of the proposed millage is 5.79% over the "rolled back millage". The increase in millage is predicated on capital projects in the budget and across the board salary increases for all employees. There were no comments regarding the millage from those present. The Council considered the proposed budget for the October 7, 1980 General Fund. The Village Clerk read Ordinance No. 224 and on motion of Mr. Taplin, seconded by Miss Gray and voted, the ordinance was adopted as an emergency measure. The proposed budget for the Water Department was con- sidered by the Council. The Village Clerk read Ordinance No. 225 and on motion of Miss Gray, seconded by Mr. Beatty and voted the ordinance was adopted as an emergency measure. The Council considered the proposed budget for the Sewer Department. Ordinance No. 226 was read by the Village clerk. On Motion of Mr. Beatty, seconded by Miss Gray and voted the ordinance was adopted as an emergency measure. The Council considered the proposed budget for the Tourism Department. Mr. Michael Brenan and Mr. Maley dis- cussed the capital expenditures suggested and the request for additional promotional monies. Ordinance No. 227 was read by the Village Clerk. On motion of Mr. Taplin, seconded by Mr. Beatty and voted the ordinance was adopted as an emergency measure. Mr. Maley asked the Council to approve the Police Benevolent Association wage scale for Bal Harbour, which is the same as ours. On motion of Miss Gray, seconded by Mr. Taplin and voted the scale was adopted. The Village Clerk then read Resolution No. 274 setting the final 1980 millage for Bal Harbour at 3.79 mills. On motion of Mr. Beatty, seconded by Miss Gray and voted the Resolution was adopted. On Motion of Mr. Taplin, seconded by Miss gray the meeting was adjourned at 6:25 P.M.
