A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, TO RATIFY THE
ACTION OF THE CITY MANAGER TO PERFORM
EMERGENCY REPAIRS TO MASTER STATION 11C IN THE
AMOUNT OF TEN THOUSAND EIGHT DOLLARS
($10,008.00), PAYABLE FROM ACCOUNT NUMBER 35-
533520;PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS,Master Sewer Station 11C,has three(3)pumps which have been shutting down
intermittently due to corrosion of the pump system's components; and
WHEREAS,it is critical that that Master Sewer Station 11C remains operational,in order to
keep all of the City's system sewer stations functional; and
WHEREAS,to prevent unhealthy work conditions,the deterioration of Master Sewer Station
11C requires urgent repairs to the Ventilation Duct, Compressor 1, Float Installation and Wetwell
Access Hatch, at a total cost of$10,008.00; and
WHEREAS,due to the emergency nature of the situation,the repairs have been undertaken,
and the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to ratify the actions of the City Manager in
performing emergency repairs to Master Sewer Station 11C.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.

Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby ratifies the actions of
the City Manager to perform emergency repairs to Master Station 11C, in the amount of Ten
Thousand Eight Dollars ($10,008.00), payable from Account Number 35-533520.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.

Description:
The City's Master Sewer Station 11C is in need of urgent repair. All three pumps have been
shutting down intermittently. The shut-down is as a result of corrosion to the components of the
pump system created by the sewer gases. Additionally, it has become impossible to access the
pumps for maintenance as the ventilation system is also in need of repair. It is critical that the
Master Station remain operational since all the other sewer stations feed into this location. This
matter requires urgent attention as it is hazardous and has the potential for resulting in complete
failure of the City's sewer system.
Financial Impact: The cost of the emergency repairs is $10,008 payable from account number 35-533520.
Implementation Time Line: As this is an emergency, repairs are on ongoing.
