AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR
MCMANIMON & SCOTLAND, LLC
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret, ("Borough"), is in need of specialized legal
services; and
WHEREAS, McManimon & Scotland, LLC possess the requisite skill and expertise to
provide such specialized legal services; and
WHEREAS, the Law Director of the Borough of Carteret has recommended the
appointment of McManimon & Scotland, LLC to defend the Borough of Carteret at a
cost not to exceed $13,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be available
for said pnrpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by Mayor and Conncil of the Borough of
Carteret, that McManimon & Scotland, LLC is hereby appointed as special connsel to
defend the Borough of Carteret in the above described matters at a cost not to exceed
$13,000.00; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this appointment is made as a professional services
contract pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:1l-5(l)(a) in accordance with the Borough's Fair and
Open Process as authorized by law.
