In accordance with Massachusetts General Law Chapter 39, Section 15, the Town moderator presides and
regulates the proceedings of Town Meetings, decides all questions of order, and makes public declaration
of all votes, and may administer in open meeting the oath of office to any town officer chosen thereat.
The Town Moderator also appoints the Finance Committee members.
The Town Moderator annual operating budget includes a $150 stipend for the Special Town Meeting in
the Fall as well as the Special / Annual Town Meeting in the Spring each year for a total of $300.
