Resolution No. 11-8225
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, TO AUTHORIZE
THE CITY ATTORNEY TO FILE AN APPEAL IN THE
MATTER OF LINDA BRACY; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS,an offer to settle the lawsuit between Linda Bracy and the City of Opa-
locka was made to the Plaintiff's attorney by the City Attorney; and
WHEREAS, said offer was rejected; and
WHEREAS,the City Attorney requests the approval of the City Commission of the
City of Opa-locka to file an appeal in the matter of Linda Bracy vs. the City of Opa-locka;
and
WHEREAS,the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to approve the
City Attorney's request to file an appeal in the matter of Linda Bracy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka approves and
authorizes the City Attorney to file an appeal in the matter of Linda Bracy vs the City of Opa-
locka.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.

Dear Mr. Greason:
I have consulted, with members of the City commission and the Manager
regarding settlement of this matter. Please be advised that the City of Opa-locka is
prepared'to offer your client, Linda Bracy, $13,834.00, which is the entire amount of her
lost salary since the time of the reduction.
Also be advised that in the future she will be reduced to the salary
commensurate with the position that she is now currently holding.
