HomeMy Public PortalAbout1989-40Member �`introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO. , �- /I-D WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted an ordinance repealing the liquor licensing provisions of the city code and has adopted an ordinance involving new liquor licensing requirements; and WHEREAS, such ordinance is lengthy and would be expensive to publish in its entirety; and WHEREAS, Minn. Stat. Section 412.191, subd. 4 allows the publication by title and summary alone of lengthy ordinances upon approval of the summary by a vote of four -fifths of the members of the city council; and WHEREAS, the city council has reviewed the proposed summary of the ordinance and believes that it clearly informs the public of the intent and effect of the ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina, Minnesota that the city clerk -treasurer be authorized and directed to publish the following summary of the liquor licensing ordinance in lieu of publication of the full ordinance: ADOPTION OF MEDINA LIQUOR LICENSING ORDINANCE The City of Medina has adopted a comprehensive revision of its ordinance regulating the sale of alcoholic beverages within the City. The ordinance incorporates several recent changes in state law, include a new and higher age limit for the consumption of alcoholic beverages. The ordinance also establishes standards for serving alcoholic beverages in the exterior portions of licensed premises, provides for the evacuation of on -sale establishments after the close of business, requires the payment of an investigation fee for every applicant for a license and makes other changes. This is only a summary of the city's new liquor licensing ordinance. A full and complete copy of the ordinance is available from the city clerk -treasurer at Medina city hall during regular business hours. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina that a full and complete copy of the ordinance shall also be posted at L-Ja_ m e- I 'Po o T7 / c e.
