RESOLUTION NO . 81-118
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYI~lW00D AMENDING RULE II, SECTION 1 OF THE PERSONNEL
RULES AND REGULATIO~dS
WHE!~EAS, the Personnel Rules and Regulations do not contain a
statement, such as the one specified in the Affirmative Action Plan a.~zd
Memoranda of Understanding, defining the i?iaividual or group attributes
which if used to make employment decisions would constitute grounds for
_ changes of discrimination, and
WHEREAS, the Personnel Board has approved the amendment to Rule II,
Section 1, of the Personnel Rules and Regulations as specified below; and
WHEREAS, City of Lynwood Association Representatives and the City
Attorney have reviewed the amendment to Rule II, Section 1, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does here'oy
approved same
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does
hereby resolve that
_ Personnel Rule II be amended to delete Section 1 entitled Disclosure
of religion or political affiaiation and to add the following
~1 ~ _ _ -,
Section 1 Non.-discrimination. All decisions regarding recr~~.itment,
hiring, promotion, transfer, discipline, compensation, ass:ig_unents,
.benefits, training, layoff, recall and other terms and co-:~.3itions
of employment shall be made: without discrimination on g~•oualds of A
race, color, creed, religion, sex, national origin, age, political
affiliation or opinions, association membership or other factors
which cannot be lawfully used as the basis for an employme:~~t r::e-
cision The above has no bearing on the taking of a loyalty oath
which is required of all City employees
