RESOLUTION NO. 81-119
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD APPOINTING THE CITY
ATTORNEY, ASSISTANT CITY ATTORNEY AND
DEPUTY CITY ATTORNEYS AND ESTABLISHING
BASIC.SERVICES AND AMOUNT OF RETAINER
AND FEES
WHEREAS, the City Council previously retained the law firm
of Stradling, Yocca, Carlson & Rauth, a professional
corporation (sometimes hereinafter "Attorneys"), to represent
the City as City Attorney; and
` - '~ ' -`'- ~"'"-~~WHEREAS, ~ the City Council desires to appoint and designate µ _
specific attorneys to the positions of City Attorney, Assistant
City Attorney and Deputy City Attorneys.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
does hereby resolve as follows:
SECTION 1: David R. McEwen is hereby appointed- and
designated City Attorney of the City of Lynwood; E. Kurt Yeager
is hereby appointed and 'designated Assistant City Attorney of
the City of Lynwood; and John J. Murphy, Richard C. Goodman,
Paul L. Gale, Randall J. Sherman and Lawrence D. Frenzel are
hereby appointed and designated Deputy City Attorneys of the
City of Lynwood.
SECTION 2: The basic services to be provided by the
Attorneys shall include attendance at two City Council meetings
and one planning commission meeting per month, presence in city
hall during the afternoon of the days the above meetings are to
be held for consultation with city officials, city manager and
staff; providing advice and consultation to city officials,

and drafting ordinances, resolutions and contracts and such
other related general services as required in connection with
the representative of the City. For providing such basic
services, Attorneys shall be paid a fee of $1,800 per month.
In addition to such basic services, Attorneys shall also
provide the following special services: .representations of the
City in all litigation matters; -the handling of special
projects {such as major code revisions) to be designated from
time to time by the City Council; and the handling of
employer-employee negotiations and related problems. For such
special services, Attorneys shall be paid a fee based on the,
rate of $70 per hour.

SECTION 4: This Resolution shall take effect immediately.
