RESOLUTION N0. 81-160
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD URGING CALTRANS AND THE GOVERNOR
OF CALIFORNIA .TO SEEK TO HAVE. THE.ALAMEDA
INTERCHANGE REINSTATED IN THE NEW I-105
FREEWAY PLAN.
WHEREAS, elimination of the Alameda interchange will severely
hamper the City's development efforts along Alameda Street; and

WHEREAS, existing manufacturers located along Alameda Street
have expressed grave concerns over the elimination of said inter-
change;, and
WHEREAS, the development of -the Alameda Industrial.Park,
which is to function as the catalyst for the rejuvenation, redevelop-
ment, and enhancement of the City of Lynwood and surrounding
communities, will not be realized without freeway access to and
from Alameda Street;
NOW, THEREFORE., BE IT .RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS.:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood
earnestly supports the reinstatement of the Alameda Street inter-
change to the new I-105 Freeway Plan,. ~
Section 2. That the Director of Caltrans and the Governor ;~
of the State of California be urged to seek to have said interchange I
reinstated to the I-105 Freeway project. ~
Section 3. That the :City Clerk shall certify to the
-- ---- - -__._adoption. of. this resolution.- and .submit.~copies to the Director of __
Caltrans Ms. Gianturco; Governor Brown; U. S. Senator Alan 1
Cranston; Congressman Mervyn Dymally; State Senator Ralph C. Dills; ~
State Assemblyman Frank Vicencia; and the Los Angeles County Board ~~
of Supervisors.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this lst day of
