RESOLUTION NO. 81-166
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD RELATING TO THE DESTRUCTION OF RECORDS
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Lynwood-has
retained certain warrants in the lawful execution of her responsibili-
ties, which are no longer required;. and _.
WHEREAS, Government Code ~ 34090 permits "the head of a
city department to destroy any city "record, document, instrument;,"
book or paper under his.. charge, without making a copy thereof,
after the same is no longer required;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CTTY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE, RESOLVE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The records~.to be destroyed pursuant to this
resolutgn.do not include records; he destruction of which, is
specifically prohibited by~Government Code ss 34090, .namely:.
(a) Records .affecting the title to real
property or liens thereon;
(:b) Court records;
(:c) Records required-to be"kept by statute;
(d) Records less: than two years old;
J (e) The 'minute s., .ordna.nces, or resolutions
of the legislative body of the City of
Lynwood .
~BECT:ION 2. The written consent of the City Attorney has
.been obtained prior to the destruction of any and all city records
pursuant .to th.i:s resolution.
SECTION '3. The City Clerk of the City of Lynwood is
hereby authorized to destroy the following records:
Warrants - Fiscal year 1973-74
Warrants - Fiscal year 1974-75
APPROVED.;-..AND ADOPTED this 15th day of _ December 1981.
