"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYN11'OOD APPROVING CIVIL DEFENSE AGREEt•tENT."
11'HEREAS, by agreement pursuant to a joint exercise of
po~ti~ers the County of Los Angeles and the cities of Artesia, Bell-
flower, Bell Gardens, Carson, Cerritos, Commerce, Compton, Do~sney,
Ha~sa.ian__Gardens, Huntington Park, Lakewood, La t~lira.da, t4ontebello,
Noriti~alk, Paramount, Santa Fe Springs, South Gate and Vernon. have
agreed to cooperate in providing Civil Defense services for the
area served by them, which area is known as Area "E"; and
1ti'HEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lyn~~•ood wishes
to join in said other agencie-s .in .providing such Civil Defense for
the benefit of its residents;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lyn~sood
hereby does resolve as follows:
Section 1. The agreement entitled, "AGREEt•1ENT TO PROVIDE
PRItdARILY FOR INTER-AGENCY COOPERATION IN t~fA00R NATURAL AND t~1AN-MADE

said agencies hereby is approved; and the participation of the
City of Lynwood therein, the execution of said agreement by the
t•1ayor, and the attesting thereto by the City Clerk hereby are
authorized and directed.

Section 2. A membership fee in the amount of $462 for ~
the remainder of fiscal year 1979-80 hereby is approved, and pay-
ment thereof is hereby authorized and directed.
