The purpose of this project is to reduce combined sewer overflows into the River Des Peres per the Long Term Control Plan. This project will reduce runoff volume with the installation of two (2) bioretention basins and an interconnected lake system with weir walls for additional stormwater storage. Total revised cost of the project is estimated at $2,536,200. On May 13, 2021, Ordinance No. 15645 encumbered $1,214,000. Forest Park Forever, Inc. is requesting an additional $1,322,200 reimbursement for the cost of green infrastructure. The work to be done under Contract #22240 consists of the construction of approximately 3,864 lineal feet of pipe sewers, varying in size from 12-inch to 108-inch in diameter and appurtenances. This construction is the 4th phase of a multiphase improvement program. The purpose of this project is to reduce building backups and to alleviate wet weather surcharging and overland flooding of the combined sewer system. This project is scheduled to be completed in 600 days. This is a partial funding request. A supplemental appropriation request of $13,500,000 is planned for construction in FY2024 providing a total appropriation of $19,500,000.
