A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY .COUNCT•L OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZLNG A PRE-APPLICATION
FOR GRANT ASSISTANCE UNDER THE URBAN PARK AND
.RECREATION RECOVERY (UPARR) PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the~Urban Park and Recreation Recovery Act
(.Title X of P.L. 95=625) was:signed into law on November 10,
1-978; and
• WHEREAS, the Heritage Conservation and Recreation Ser-
vice of the United States Department of the Interior has been
given the responsibility to. administer this program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood is eligible to receive •
funds under this program; and
• WHEREAS, the Lynwood Recreation and Parks Department
has determined that the highest priority project eligible for
support under this program is~to rehabilitate certain recrea-
tion facilities in the Lynwood City Park.
NOT4 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. That the City Council of the. City of Lynwood
authorize the submission of a pre-application to the-:Heritage
Conservation a-nd Recreation Service for grant assistance to
rehabilitate certain recreation facilities iri the Lynwood
City Park. under-the UPARR program; and ~,.
2. That the City Council authorize use. of the. City's
$12,667 1980-81 allocation of the state funded SB174 program
for the UPARR project, as well as $13,222 .in 1974 State Park.
Bond funds; and
3. That the City Council commit $11,500. in local re-
sources as a matching amount for this UPARR project.
