Home My Public Portal About11-8247 Freeze all Hiring Sponsored by: Vice-Mayor Johnson RESOLUTION NO. 11-8247 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA TO FREEZE ALL HIRING EXCEPT FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT'S SWORN PERSONNEL THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 2011, EXCEPT WITH APPROVAL OF THE CITY COMMISSION; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to freeze all hiring due to the Fiscal Year 2010-2011 Budget shortfall; and WHEREAS, the hiring freeze will affect all departments, except the Police Department's sworn personnel. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference. Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, Florida authorizes a freeze on all hiring, except for the Police Department's sworn personnel, effective immediately through September 30, 2011, except with approval of the City Commission. Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
