APPROVING PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT-
GENOVA BURNS & VERNOIA
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of specialized legal services with
regard to various labor matters and litigation; and
'VlIEREAS, the law firm of Genova Bums & Vemoia possesses the requisite
experience and expertise to provide said specialized legal services; and
WHE~AS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be
available Jor s~ai9 puwose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Cartere!.
1. That the law firm of Genova Bums & Vemoia is hereby
appointed special labor counsel at an hourly rate set
pursuant to the firm's existing contract with the Borough
for a maximum cost not to exteed $60,000.00. .
2, That a copy of this Resolution shall be fonvarded to the
Borough's Purchasing Department.
3. This action is approved as an award of a professional
services contract pursnant to N.J.8.A. 40A:II-5(1)(a) in
accordance with the Borough's Fair and Open Process as
authorized by law.

Borough Hall, 61 Cooke Avenue, Calteret,New Jersey.
As per Resolution Number 08-283.
THE CONTRACTOR does hereby agree to perform the following:
PROFESSIONAL SERVICE CONTRACT FOR VARIOUS LABOR AND
LITIGATION MATTERS
NOT TO EXCEED $60,000.00.
According to the terms set forth in the Resolution.
THE BOROUGH does hereby agree to pay the Contractor the sum set forth in
Resolution.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have hereunder set their hands and seals or
