RESOLUTION NO. 11-8285
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, TO URGE ALL
MUNICIPALITIES IN MIAMI-DADE COUNTY TO
ADOPT A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY RELATED TO
GRAFFITI; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF
RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the presence of graffiti reflects poorly on residents, neighborhoods,
taxpayers and businesses, especially since when major events bring visitors from all over
the world into Miami-Dade County communities, the images in our communities often
denote crime and lawlessness; and
WHEREAS, the County has created a Community Image Advisory Board to
improve the image of the County along major corridors and tourism destinations; and
WHEREAS, the City of Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to do their
share and participate within their community to help eliminate graffiti; and
WHEREAS, the City of Opa-locka desires to adopt a zero tolerance policy for all
Graffiti and urges all municipalities to stand with them in eliminating graffiti in Miami-
Dade County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka adopts a zero tolerance
policy toward graffiti and urges all municipalities in Miami-Dade County to adopt a zero
tolerance policy related to graffiti.

Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
