HomeMy Public PortalAbout1990-21Member 74., introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO. 91)- /') / RESOLUTION GRANTING PRELIMINARY APPROVAL FOR A LOT DIVISION/COMBINATION FOR DOUGLAS WALL AND JOSEPH MALCHOW WHEREAS, Douglas Wall and Joseph Malchow (Applicants) have submitted an application for a division and combination of property located between the Applicants' lots, which is currently described in Exhibit A, attached hereto; and WHEREAS, the new descriptions of the Applicants' properties are included in Exhibit B, attached hereto; and WHEREAS, the proposed lot division/combination has been reviewed by the planning commission and City Council for compliance with all City ordinances and regulations pertaining to the subdivision of land. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina, Minnesota that the division/combination of the above described property by the Applicants is hereby given preliminary approval, subject to the following: 1. The Applicants shall combine their respective portions of the divided lot with their existing properties; 2. The existing garage on the Wall portion of the divided lot shall be removed within 180 days of the date of final approval; 3. The Applicants shall grant to the City the drainage and utility easements required by the city engineer; 4. The City urges Douglas Wall to take all reasonable steps to acquire the lot to the north of his existing property from the DNR; and 5. The Applicants shall submit title evidence regarding the lot to be divided for review by the city attorney. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina that the following variances be granted: 1. Reduce minimum lot size form 9,000 square feet to 8,669 square feet for the portion of the lot to be purchased by Douglas Wall; and 2. Reduce front yard setback from 30 feet to 12.2 feet for the garage on the grounds that the neighborhood standard for lot size is 6,000 square feet and due to the placement of the existing house.
